Recently awarded the Borletti-Buitoni Trust Award for 2014, violinist Itamar Zorman is the winner of the 2013 Avery Fisher Career Grant, and the 2011 International Tchaikovsky Competition in Russia. His previous awards include the First Prize at the 2010 Freiburg International Competition in Germany and the Juilliard Concerto Competition.

Mr. Zorman has performed as a soloist with the Mariinsky Orchestra, Israel Philharmonic, Tokyo Symphony, German Radio Philharmonic, Utah Symphony, St. Petersburg Philharmonic, and the American Symphony, with conductors Valery Gergiev, Zubin Mehta, David Robertson, James DePreist and Yuri Bashmet, and in venues such as Avery Fisher Hall, Carnegie Hall’s Stern Auditorium, Tokyo’s Suntory Hall and Amsterdam Concertgebouw.

Mr. Zorman was invited to the Verbier Festival, Marlboro Festival and Radio France Festival in Montpellier. He is a founding member of the Israeli Chamber project, and a member of the Lysander Piano Trio, which won the 2012 Concert Artists Guild Competition and the grand prize at the Coleman Competition.

Supported by the America-Israel Cultural Foundation and the Feher Foundation, Mr. Zorman studied at the Jerusalem Academy, The Juilliard School and Manhattan School of Music and the Kronberg Academy. He graduated with the prestigious Artist Diploma from Juilliard, working with Sylvia Rosenberg, and from the Kronberg Academy where he studied with Christian Tetzlaff. He plays on a 1745 Pietro Guarneri violin from the private collection of Yehuda Zisapel.
